Press ReleaseContact: Carl Brandt Phone: (707) 442-7395 The Lost Coast 4x4's club is nine years old. We have about 60 members who participate in club activities. Our meetings are at 7 PM on the first Tuesday of each month at the Empire Lanes bowling facility in Fortuna. We go on a run each month on the third weekend of the month. Our club also participates in local projects and events such as local parades, River bar and Beach clean-up, "Cruz n' Eureka", OHV shows, rescue of stuck vehicles, etc. Over the last nine years we have removed 16,000 pounds of garbage and over 50 junk automobiles. We have also volunteered with the Bureau of Land Management to restore dune habitat at the Samoa Dunes OHV recreation area. Lost Coast members also work with the Six Rivers National Forest and the Bureau of Land Management to conserve public lands and keep them available for public use. We have also participated in appeals and law suits against the Forest Service and BLM in an effort to preserve our trails. The California Association of 4-Wheel Drive Clubs, Inc. (founded 1959) is a non-profit
organization comprised of member clubs, individuals and business firms, united in a common
objective - the betterment of vehicle-oriented outdoor recreation. We represent four
wheelers, hunters, fisherman and other outdoor recreation lists. The
CA4WDC is the largest
